Mortehoe, is 4 hours from London on an average day. It is right on the tip to the West of Ilfracombe. The nearest train station is Barnstaple (25 mins).
Mortehoe is a picturesque village with 3 pubs, a bakery, chippie, restaurant, post office, garage, delicatessen and a Church (featured in Simon Jenkins’recent book).
Walking
In addition to dramatic walks both inland and along the coast, the
area has many attractions. The Mortehoe Heritage centre has an excellent
exhibition of maritime history.
